ENHANCING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PRAYER THROUGH WORDS Prayer can be likened to a precision-guided missile, which utilizes propulsion systems to generate thrust and propel it forward. The thrust in a missile is created by the combustion of propellant, resulting in hot exhaust gases that are expelled through a nozzle, thereby generating a reaction force that propels the missile in the opposite direction. The primary objective of a missile is to deliver a warhead to its target, at which point the explosive is detonated upon impact. In missiles, the warhead is of paramount importance. Similarly, in prayer, the type of words employed against the target is crucial. The power of the Holy Spirit is what gives our words their potency, rendering a prayer without the Holy Spirit ineffective. Thus, prayer can be compared to a guided missile that is propelled directly towards its target until it is reached. Isaiah 55:10-12 states, “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be, that goeth forth out of my mouth: It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” When praying and aligning our prayers with the word of God, we are effectively launching a guided missile that will hit its target. PRAY NOW.
