The purpose of revival is for Christians to be revived in the work of Christ's Kingdom. As God's Word is preached, we are renewed, refreshed and refocused.
2 Chronicles 15:8 And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from Mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the Lord, that was before the porch of the Lord.
Revival brings about a change of attitude.
Revival brings about a consideration of allowance.
Revival brings about a challenge to act.
Asa's attitude changed toward the things of God as he took courage.
Asa refused to allow things that were not of God when he put away the abominable idols.
Asa acted upon the words he heard by renewing the altar of the Lord.
As we experience revival: 1. Let us change our attitude. 2. Let us consider what we allow into our presence and into our spirit. 3. Let us act upon the Word of God with a renewed vitality.
