On Sunday, October 5th, come out any time between 10:00am and 3:00pm to the Kamloops Community Forest Annual Tree Planting event, co-hosted by the Youth of Kamloops Climate Action Network and Aberdeen Neighbourhood Association, located in West Highlands Park on the Climate Connections Trail!
Everyone is welcome to this free, family-fun event which, in addition to having planting activities that are suitable for people of all ages, includes a very special guest this year, Casey Macaulay from Aragorn Arts. Mr. Macaulay will be sharing information about his unique artwork and giving the public an opportunity to try some artwork of their own (while supplies last).
Planting will happen every hour on the half hour so people can come by the park any time that suits their Sunday schedule (between 10:00 and 3:00). There will be complementary refreshments like Starbucks coffee and delicious cookies from the Save On Foods Bakery, thanks to donations from these generous community supporters.
Come to the Community Forest in West Highlands park, near the Community Garden, roll up your sleeves and help plant a tree or simply enjoy a cup of coffee, a cookie and a chat --- and be sure not to miss your chance to work with Aragorn Arts artist Casey Macaulay who will guide you in creating some unique artwork to take home with you!
