Draw the Line Climate March Sept. 20th

The newly formed Kamloops Seniors for Climate Action (KSfCA) is excited to be joining forces with the Youth of Kamloops Climate Action Network (YKCAN) to organize two events this September. Many seniors, who are also grandparents, are concerned about the kind of world we are leaving for future generations. And many young people feel frustrated that so little is being done to protect their future. Working together makes a lot of sense.
The main event will be the Draw the Line Climate March on Sept. 20th at 1 PM in Riverside Park (meet at the Rose Garden). It will be part of a Canada-wide and global Climate Action Day called Draw the Line: For People, for Peace, for the Planet. We will be walking through a section of the park, carrying signs and playing some music.
The goal of the event is to raise awareness in our community about the urgency of the Climate Crisis and to remind government leaders that Canadians are concerned about the impacts of our warming climate. According to a recent Abacus poll, 77% of Canadians are “worried about climate change’s future effects” ( https://abacusdata.ca/public-concerns-about-climate-up-15-points-since-october 24/).
