The Garden of the Crescent Moon Coven will be celebrating Imbolc on Saturday, January 31st, gathering at about 5:30pm. We will be using the new space for the Ritual, it is almost completed!! Imbolc is a celebration mostly dedicated to the Celtic Goddess Brighid. Brighid is a Triple Goddess, which means she combines all three aspects of the Goddess in One. She is particularly associated with Earth, in the form of healing herbs as well as materials used in crafting and blacksmithing; Flame in the form of candles as well as hearth fires and the forge: and Water as in the healing waters of natural springs and the water used to cool the items created in the Forge. In general she is connected with candles, light, flame, the return of the Light to the world, inspiration, creativity, healing, crafting, metal working, herbal magic and healing waters. We will be incorporate many of these aspects into our ritual for the evening. Please bring a food dish to share with the group at the potluck feast after ritual. Appropriate food for this celebration is anything milk related, as this is the time of the year that the Ewes begin to lactate and that is what the word Imbolc means, Ewes Milk. We are celebrating with food prepared from milk products, such as creams, butters and cheeses. Chowders, stroganoffs, cheesy vegetables, cheesy noodles, cheesy casseroles, dips made from sour cream, etc. are all welcome! Get creative! This is a family friendly event and new people are welcome as well! Hope to see everyone here!
