About the event

Navaratri Kirtan – Call to the Goddess
✨ Join us for an evening of Kirtan ~ devotional music, rhythm & rest, honouring the Divine Feminine during Navaratri.

About this Event

You’re warmly invited to an evening of devotional music, rhythm, and sacred rest as we come together to honour the Divine Feminine in all her forms through the powerful, heart-opening practice of Kirtan.

Led by the soulful voice of Lucy Lilyfield (Blue Wren Bhakti), with the deep tribal beats of Pirates on djembe and didgeridoo, this Kirtan will be a vibrational journey into reverence, joy, and community connection.

We gather in celebration of Navaratri, the ancient Hindu festival of Nine Nights, honouring goddesses such as Durga, Kali, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Parvati, and Shakti—each representing a unique force of creation, destruction, wisdom, compassion, and transformation.

🌺 About Kirtan

Kirtan is a form of Bhakti Yoga—the yoga of devotion—where mantra (sacred sound) is sung in call and response or group repetition.  Rooted in the Indian yogic tradition, it invites us to quiet the mind, open the heart, and enter the timeless space of sound and silence.

As Westerners sharing these practices, we do so with deep gratitude and reverence for the Indian cultural and spiritual lineage from which they arise.

✨ You don’t need to sing or even know the words.

You can chant, hum, listen, sway, sit, lie down and rest.

Let the music move through you however it needs to.

We’ll be sharing:

🎶 Powerful goddess kirtans, including “Govinda Narayana,” chants to Durga, Kali, Saraswati, Lakshmi, and more.

🎶 Traditional instruments: harmonium, tanpura, djembe, didgeridoo, and guitar.

🫖 Light refreshments will be served.

Come raise your voice—or rest in the resonance. Let us call in the Goddess together.
