The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre's production of The Cherry Orchard, extended thru February 1, 2026, in the Carver Studio.
Anton Chekhov’s final masterpiece, The Cherry Orchard, is an exploration of love, loss, and societal transformation. Set in early 20th-century Russia, the story follows an aristocratic family as they return to their ancestral estate, complete with a sprawling cherry orchard, ahead of its impending auction. As cherished memories collide with an uncertain future, this bittersweet drama captures the universal human struggle between clinging to the past and embracing change. From one of the most prolific playwrights of the 19th century, The Cherry Orchard remains a cornerstone of modern theater.
