Giorgi Gigashvili, piano

After winning Georgia’s edition of The Voice at age 13, Giorgi Gigashvili began formal piano studies with Revaz Tavadze at the Tbilisi State Conservatory. He has since earned First Prize at the Vigo International Piano Competition and 2nd Prize at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. In 2023, Gigashvili began studying with Gilmore Artist Kirill Gerstein in Berlin. For his Gilmore recital, Gigashvili focuses on lyrical Romantic works by Mendelssohn, Chopin, and Schumann. The program also includes Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata No. 8, one of Prokofiev’s most important contributions to the genre.
