Ulana Niu Wreath and Ornaments Workshop with Maui Grown 808

Join kumu Mario Siatris and Uʻi Kahue to learn the basics of ulana lau niu (coconut weaving/plaiting) while creating a wreath and holiday ornaments that will last for years to come. Items woven from coconut leaves can endure for 8 to 10 years! The workshop will also cover sustainable gathering practices, preparation techniques, and the cultural significance of the voyaging plant, niu (coconut, Cocos nucifera). You can do this!
