Food Forest/Forest Garden Tour - back by popular demand
Walk the perimeter of author Jen Reelitz's two-acre hobby farm with a 16,000 sq ft food forest, heritage breed pigs, chickens, and a plant nursery. In the food forest there are hundreds of fruiting plants perennial vegetables, including a wide variety of leaf crops and root crops. Jen will discuss the various fruit trees and staple crops that are recommended for our zone. She’ll give general tips and recommended resources.
This tour is helpful to be able to see, touch, and taste the various crops that can be grown here. This is not a formal class or lecture, it’s informal. Please be mindful that this will not be the time to answer personal garden questions that are location specific, otherwise we won’t have time to discuss all the amazing tropical crops and food forest tips! Those individual questions would be best suited for an on-site consultation.
At the end of the tour, seeds and live plants will be available for purchase.
This walking tour is a great introduction to the world of permaculture and food forests through real-life observation and sensory learning. We want you to leave feeling like you can do this, too! Don't miss out on this exciting adventure!
