Game On – An Art Journey Through Childhood Play
The Josephy Center for Arts and Culture invites artists to submit work for Game On: An Art Journey Through Childhood Play, an upcoming exhibit celebrating the joy, creativity, and nostalgia of games from our youth. From board games and hopscotch to video games and backyard adventures, this exhibit explores how play shapes our memories, friendships, and imagination.
We welcome submissions in all mediums—painting, sculpture, mixed media, textiles, photography, digital art, interactive installations, and more! Whether you depict the thrill of a video game battle, the simplicity of marbles rolling across the floor, or the teamwork of a classic board game, we want to see your artistic interpretation of play.
Submission Guidelines:
Open to all mediums and artistic styles
Work should reflect themes of childhood games, nostalgia, or the spirit of play
Interactive or participatory pieces encouraged
All submitted work must be ready to display
Join us in bringing the joy of play to life through art!
Awards – $500 in Cash Prizes
First Place – $200
Second Place – $125
Third Place – $75
Honorable Mention – $50
Best Young Artist – $25
People’s Choice Award – $25

When: Submission deadline – 12/12, midnight

Exhibition: 1/10 – 2/14
Art Pick-up: 2/17, 12-4 PM
Adult Exhibit Entry Fee: $10. Youth Entry 17 and under: FREE
About the Exhibit:
Artists are invited to submit up to three works in any 2D or 3D medium exploring the theme of childhood games and play. From classic board games and outdoor fun to video games and arcade nostalgia, this exhibit celebrates the creativity and joy of play.
All submitted artwork must be for sale. No AI art please. Artists will receive 60% commission, with the gallery retaining 40% to support exhibitions and programming.
Image Submission Requirements:
One digital image per artwork submitted
At least 1800 pixels on the longest side
JPEG/JPG format only
Max file size: 4MB
