Our next clothes swap is the Sunday
8th March from 11-2pm at Meerilinga Woodvale.
Key details:
Clothes for all people: adults and children.
No restriction on brands, but must be in good or better condition.
Bring a maximum of 10 items on the day. Larger quantities of items can be donated by dropping off ahead of time.
No limit on how many items you can take home.
No weighing, tickets or roll call.
Drop in any time within the 3 hours of shopping time (11am-2pm).
Light refreshments provided.

We will be swapping mens, womens and childrens clothes as well as bags, belts and other accessories. We will also have a table for swapping shoes (but only those in excellent condition please. Shoes which are damaged will be put in the garbage as we do not have the capacity to arrange rehoming to somewhere with a lower standard, or send them for recycling).
This event is free to attend. Optional gold coin donation to cover the modest running cost and help to keep this event completely cost free for those in need.
How it works:
+ clean out your wardobe. IMPORTANT Check the clothes you want to donate for dirt and damage, wash/mend anything that needs it, and then pack the items into reusable bags.
+ DO NOT PACK IN GARBAGE BAGS.
+ DO NOT DONATE DIRTY CLOTHES.
+ DO NOT DONATE DAMAGED CLOTHES.
You can drop the items off in advance at either a Greenwood drop point between Saturday 21st February and 7th March, or to Meerilinga Woodvale during their opening hours during the week before the event (2-6 March, check opening times on website). Send us a pm for more information on the drop points. There is no limit on items you can drop off ahead of time, but please ensure they are CLEAN and in GOOD CONDITION, and must be in reusable bags (paper is fine); please save your garbage bags for actual garbage.
OR
You can bring a maximum of 10 items/1 bag full on the day of the event BEFORE 12 noon. Maximum 1 pair of shoes donated per person. This is so we have time to get your items hung and on the racks while people are still shopping, and have space to display the shoes neatly.
On the event day, doors will open for "shopping" at 11am. You can take home as many items as you like, for free! The racks will be restocked throughout the event by the volunteers as space becomes available, so you don't need to rush. New items arrive right up until 12 noon.
If you are bringing a pram or mobility aid, or just don't like crowds, please come to the event between 1-2pm. This is for the safety of all participants - it will be crowded for the first hour and there will not be space. There will still be beautiful items left in the last hour! If there is something in particular on your wish list but you fit into this category, let us know beforehand and we can pop an item or two aside for you if we spot during setup.
Shopping time runs from 11am until 2pm. Spend as little or as much time as you want browsing. We have a tea and coffee station, plus some snacks donated by Weigh n Pay, to encourage you to have a little break between browsing the racks. You can even leave and come back within the three hours - a great time to go visit a local business for a coffee or pick up some treats from Weigh n Pay.
At 2pm the "shop is shut" and our volunteers pack everything away for sorting at home. Some leftover items are retained for next time. Most are donated to various charities and recycling organisations in line with what they are currently in need of. We try to get the clothes into the hands of those who can make best use of them, and are open to suggestions if you represent an organisation with a need for clothing items.
At this time we are unable to take items which need mending. Please check out Repair Cafe (use google) if you are unable to mend items yourself.
If you have items with stains or marks which "shoukd wash out", please wash them first. If you need assistance with washing advice, cost of washing, or time, reach out to your local community for help. If you do not have capacity to donate CLEAN clothes, please do not bring any clothes - we would still love to see you at the event!
