Founded and led by multidisciplinary artist Lynn Daphne Rudolph in 2024, Sonic Lens is an evolving performance platform and a living ritual where audiences gather in the name of rest, softness, and community. It centres Black and queer bodies, reclaiming the right to pause, to breathe, and to dream in a world that continually disrupts that possibility.
As a live band, Sonic Lens is a collaboration between Lynn Daphne Rudolph, a Carnegie Hall alumnus classical violist, and Daniel Stompie Selibe, a painter and indigenous instrumentalist. Together, they weave soundscapes that fuse musical traditions, listening practices, and cultural languages. The result is what they call a dreamscape, an improvised, immersive sonic offering that invites participants into a shared state of dreaming.
