Sidereal and tropical astrology are two different approaches to astrology:
Sidereal Astrology
1. Based on the actual positions of stars and constellations
2. Takes into account the precession of the equinoxes (Earth's wobbling axis)
3. Uses the sidereal zodiac, which aligns with the actual star positions
Tropical Astrology
1. Based on the seasons and the Sun's path (ecliptic)
2. Doesn't account for precession, so the zodiac signs remain fixed
3. Uses the tropical zodiac, which is based on the Earth's seasons
The main difference between the two systems is the zodiac sign dates. Due to precession, the sidereal zodiac has shifted about 24 degrees relative to the tropical zodiac.
Some astrologers prefer sidereal astrology for its astronomical accuracy, while others prefer tropical astrology for its seasonal and symbolic significance.
