WHAT IS AYURVEDA?
Ayurveda is the science of self-healing, an ancient Indian practice that sits alongside the practice of yoga.
AYURVEDA IS:
AYUR = Life or longevity
VEDA = Knowledge or science
Ayurveda is THE most supportive and fundamental partnership to yoga that truly brings the essence and energy of personal practice alive.
Just as with Yoga, a daily practice in some way keeps our vital essences restored. To go beyond the physicality of our practice and support our bodies in fullness an understanding of our own unique combination of energies (called Dosha’s) directs and determines the way we support and uplift ourselves.
To move in harmony with the seasons and to cultivate a relationship that underlies and underpins the fluctuations that seasonally arrive - we need to cultivate awareness and understanding to be adaptable and responsive.
Ayurveda brings connection to the underlying energies -called the three Guna’s that naturally work in ebb and flow. Depending on your natural constitution (Prakriti) and the energies around you eg season, life stage, time of day (Vikruiti) we have the ability to self-heal and re-direct.
Just as with yoga, this is a lifetime study that constantly requires adjustment and self-reflection
In our workshop we will explore:
* Discover your Ayurvedic constitution - Pitta, Vata and Kapha
* Learn about the six tastes & food qualities
* Develop a daily routine through the practice of Dinicharya
* Understand ways to adapt, shift and cultivate a seasonal routine that supports your Dosha.
* A booklet will be included for you to keep as part of our day together (so all you need to do is just receive the wisdom & you can revisit the knowledge later!!)
