About The Wells Brisket Fest
The Wells Brisket Fest is an annual community event held every fall at MacKinnon Park in Norman Wells. Now in its 4th year, the festival has already raised nearly $30,000 for local causes. It brings people together over the love of good food, friendly competition, and community spirit. Founded to combine great barbecue with a great cause, The Wells Brisket Fest has quickly become a highlight of the year for cooks and food lovers alike.
At its heart, The Wells Brisket Fest is a competition: about 12 contestants prepare and smoke one brisket each, Texas-style, to be shared with the crowd and judged by a panel for bragging rights and community pride. But the event is about more than brisket alone. stories, and community connections make the day complete. From signature dishes to lending a hand behind the scenes, there’s a way for everyone to be part of the celebration.
The community response has been tremendous. Each year The Wells Brisket Fest draws a huge turnout, with plates selling out in under an hour. Families, friends, and neighbours gather to enjoy a meal, and take part in a family‑friendly dinner that has become a tradition in Norman Wells.
It’s all about the food and the people. The focus is on sharing a great meal, connecting with community, and supporting a cause together.
All proceeds go toward an annual cause, ensuring that the festival gives back to the community that makes it possible.
