October 11 – Dirk Hamilton returns to Edith May’s Paradise for a very special performance! Rich Morey opens the show for Dirk at 7:30pm.

I know I have said much of this over the years Dirk has been coming here to perform, but Dirk is the real deal!
Just check out this review from High Fidelity magazine after the release of his legendary 1978 Meet Me At The Crux album on Elektra/Asylum;

He is a true artist without all the baggage that so many others bring to the musical table. But, Dirk did not stop with such great albums as …Crux. He has continued to make an amazing body of work since 1976 and right up to present times. His last album Apocalyptic Love Songs, with songs like - Jumpin’ Outta My Skin, Bonobo Blues, and Too Spiky for the Folk Thing are all gems and songs that will make you smile from ear to ear and everywhere else.
For my ears, and to encourage you to come to this special show, I suggest starting with Meet Me At The Crux (1978), sufferupachuckle (1994), and More Songs From My Cool Life (2009).

RICH MOREY will open the show for Dirk at 7:30pm! This is Rich’s second time on the EMP stage. He was part of the 2024 Thirty Year Anniversary of the release of my American Holocaust album in 1994.
Rich Morey is a folk rock and Americana singer/songwriter in the Washington, DC area. His blend of Americana, Rock, Folk, and Soul features rhythmic fingerstyle guitar, rich melodic vocals, and lyrics from the heart, inspired by his love of poetry. His influences are many & varied and include Jason Isbell, Mark Knopfler, Amos Lee, and James Taylor. Rich has an easy-going, conversational stage presence and he strives to connect with people through his songs and performances.

It's not hard - plugging the address (7711 Apple Ave. Jessup, MD 20794) into your GPS will get you here, but for a moment, you'll think it didn't. Edith May's Paradise is at the end of Apple Avenue...just PAST the end, actually. When the road ends, follow the paved road up to the next house. Park alongside the paved road (there's plenty of space, and as long as we're mindful of one another, no one gets parked in, even with a couple dozen cars) and come on in the front door! NOTE: if ground is soaked from rain or snow park with your front and back wheels of one side of your car on the paved driveway. Allowing room for folks to get by. I usually have Edith May's Paradise signs to guide you safely in.
