Sunday 7th September brings a very special lunar spectacle!
The Blood Moon - a total lunar eclipse where the full moon will appear a deep red colour as it rises, already in the middle of the total eclipse phase.
At this time when the moon is near to the horizon it will also appear much larger.
Once we have witnessed this spectacular phenomenon we shall await the rising of Saturn, where there is an opportunity to see it's rings - using our telescope.
Obviously we shall be hoping for a cloud-free evening!

If you have binoculars and a folding chair please bring them along.
Warm clothing and a hot drink could be useful too!
For the swimmers ...high tide is at 19.18 at 10.99 metres
