A note from Tara: "As a mom of a child with autism, traditional Easter egg hunts are a challenge for us. Crowds of kids rush to grab as many eggs as possible—but not my son.
He covers his ears against the noise, moves slowly, finds one egg, and enjoys the treat right away. Why rush when he already has what he wants? He can’t say it, but I imagine that’s what he’s thinking. His autism prevents him from speaking, yet the first sign he ever learned was for candy—at church. He still signs it all day, every day. And after school when I pick him up.
This is why a sensory-friendly Easter matters. Every child deserves to experience the joy of the season in a way that feels right for them."
