Emergency Operations Center Open House

Onslow County is re-dedicating its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at 1180 Commons Dr, in Jacksonville with a ceremony and open house on October 2, 2025. County officials kick off the open house with a brief ceremony at 3:45PM then the public is invited to take a behind the scenes tour at any time between 4-7PM that day.

The $14 million federally funded project includes additions to the facility as well as renovations to existing infrastructure. Notable improvements are a new 13,000 square foot wing, a vehicle bay upfitted to resist category four hurricanes, and renovation of the original EOC building which was built in 1999.

During normal operations the EOC is the headquarters for Emergency Medical Services, Onslow County’s 911 center, Fire Rescue, and Emergency Management staff. When activated, the EOC hosts representatives from nearly all Onslow County departments, area law enforcement, as well as some state and federal agencies. It also houses the Citizen Phone Bank when active.
