explores the residents of St. Helen’s, Oregon, which became a de facto Halloween destination after being the filming location for the 1998 Disney Channel movie, Halloweentown. The film focuses on how the town’s identity is shaped by the annual influx of 50,000 tourists and examines the residents’ feelings of belonging, personal struggles, and spiritual beliefs as they navigate this unique annual phenomenon. If you saw and enjoyed the film, Butterfly in the Sky, about the history and impact of Reading Rainbow, then you’ll definitely want to join us for this one as it’s from the same filmmakers.
The Mississippi Film Society is pleased to invite you and your family to a special free community screening of The Spirit of Halloweentown on Tuesday night, October 14th, at 7 pm at the Fondren Yard (3025 N State St., Jackson). This event is free and open to the public but registration (and costumes!) are strongly encouraged.
If you have any questions about this screening, please email Ryan Parker at cnlhbiB8IG1zZmlsbXNvY2lldHkgISBvcmc=.
Also, if you're a fan of the original Halloweentown, please note that there will be a free screening of it at The Walk-In (the corner of Commerce Street & Hal White Way in Jackson) on Wednesday night, October 8, starting at 7 pm.
Also check out other Entertainment events in Jackson.
