📌 For ages 15 – 65+ (unless parents ok for younger participants. Keep in mind that the carvers have sharp knife edges!)
👍 After the class, participants can take home their printed tea towel, carved block, and Speedball Linoleum Cutter!
In this class, we will be making our own designs, then carving them into linoleum blocks that can then be printed onto cotton tea towels or any smooth fabric. I will be demonstrating the entire process step by step, from drawing, to carving, to printing.
For anyone who doesn’t know what what to draw or what they want to design, I will be providing a selection of drawing they can use for inspiration, kinda like a book of tattoo flash.
The blocks we'll be carving are 3" x 4" Speedball Speedy Carve. The carvers we'll be using are Speedball Linoleum Cutters, with handle and 5 different, interchangeable blades, (handle color may vary.) The blades, when not in use can be stored in the handle. I will be providing the ink.
The provided tea towels are white, in either 100% cotton or linen, (much like flour sack material.) Students that would rather print on a t-shirt instead, I advise that you bring your own blank, 100% cotton t-shirt in a size of your choosing.
