Riot Act, Inc. will be holding auditions for its production of Pride and Prejudice by Kate Hamill. The performances will run March 4-8, 2026 on the Center Mainstage. This period rom-com is helmed by director Angel May Wise and directing mentor Cynthia Huyffer. Rehearsals will begin after Dec. 14 with a break for the holidays. They will pick up in earnest after the new year.
Parts will be assigned to the best person for the role, not based on gender, age, or race. Many of the roles will be double cast.
Play description:
This isn’t your grandmother’s Austen! Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this P&P for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life.
Auditions will consist of cold readings and optional prepared monologues. Bring your best British Accent (but no pressure). Please bring to auditions your schedule of conflicts including work schedule through March 9, 2026. If you would like to schedule an audition time, please contact Riot Act, Inc. to do so. Otherwise please arrive any time during the audition times. If you are not able to make auditions but still would like to audition, please contact us to set up another time. If you have a headshot and resume, please bring them. If you would like to read the script before auditions, please let us know.
