Spring Writes Literary Festival - May 7-22 / Live & Zoom / 40 events!

The Community Arts Partnership’s 17th annual Spring Writes Literary Festival features 40 free literary events featuring over 100 writers!

Events are live in downtown Ithaca from May 7-11 and on Zoom from May 15-22 AND writing workshops continue through September.

The Festival shines a light on the abundance of literary talent in our NYS region. Events include panels readings performances happenings and workshops that are of interest to established or emerging writers and/or the literary-loving general public.

The Festival kicks off with one long weekend of twenty-three live events from Wednesday May 7th to Sunday May 11th at four locations: Buffalo Street Books the Tompkins County Public Library and (mostly) the Downtown Ithaca Conference Center. Seven Zoom events are scheduled on weekday evenings from May 15th through May 22nd. Nine writing workshops continue through September.

There’s so much to see: There are multiple group readings of poetry prose and essays panels on multiple topical subjects and over 15 literary themed writing workshops. There are performances by a theatre troupe and a Senior storytelling troupe. There’s a day long Book and Zine Fair a lyric writing workshop an evening multi-media performance a fantasy and sci fi workshop for teens a children’s poetry workshop and so much more.
