This pageant is all crowning! Awards are given for main titles, interview winners, evening wear winners, division covergirl, and runner ups. There are also optional photogenic, people's choice, and other titles to be awarded.
Each division will have a queen, first lady-in-waiting, and second lady-in-waiting. Interview winners will be selected for each division that competes in interview. There will also be a division evening wear winner with a first and second runner-up selected.
Age divisions are:
Baby Miss Seafood- 0-12 months
Toddler Miss Seafood- 13-35 months
Tiny Miss Seafood- 3-4 years
Petite Miss Seafood- K5-Second grade
Little Miss Seafood- Third-Fifth grade
Junior Miss Seafood- Sixth-Eighth grade
Miss Seafood- Ninth- Twelfth grade
Dress requirements are as follows:
Baby- short, cupcake style
Toddler- short, cupcake style
Tiny- short, cupcake style
Petite- short or long pageant style dress
Little- short or long pageant style dress
Junior- long pageant dress
Miss- long pageant evening gown
Makeup should be age appropriate. There should be no hair pieces or flippers. Dresses should be flattering to the contestant, age appropriate, and may be any level of glitz.
Interviews will be held the morning of the pageant for any contestant in the Petite division and older. Contestants should be in interview attire. Each division will go in as a group to meet the judges, then enter individually for interview. Petite Miss and Little Miss questions will come from their paperwork. Junior Miss and Miss questions can come from paperwork and current events related to the seafood industry.
People's Choice tickets are available for purchase. Tickets are $1 each and this money funds community outreach projects that the Queens perform during their reign. Winner is chosen by random draw. The winner will receive at least a 20" crown and sash.
Overall photogenic is selected from optional entries into the photogenic contest. Pictures may be submitted for $5 each. Judging will take place at 4pm the day of the pageant. All pictures should be printed 5X7 or 8X10 with the contestant name on the back. Pictures MUST be turned in no later than 3:45pm the day of the pageant. Photos will be available on the back table after judging is complete. Please pick up any pictures before you leave! We are not responsible for any pictures left at the facility.
Rehearsal is held the night before the pageant at 6pm. This gives the girls a chance to walk the stage and ask any questions. Rehearsal is not mandatory, but it is very beneficial. You can also use this time to turn in photogenic pictures and purchase entry tickets for the pageant.
There are no residency restrictions for this pageant. Royalty represent the City of Bayou La Batre at various functions throughout the year. The three mandatory functions that must be attended are the Christmas Parade, normally held the first or second Saturday in December at 2pm, Fleet Blessing and parade, that takes place the first Sunday in May, and the Miss Seafood Pageant in August 2026 for crowning. There are other events that we participate in, however you are not required to participate in those. It does make your year even more fun if you do participate! Pictures will be published in the program book for all contestants that enter and pay deposit before August 1, 2025. These pictures will also be used to award Division Covergirl. If you sign up for the pageant after August 1,2025, your picture will not be in the program book. Ads will also be sold for the program book this year. Ads are due August 1, 2025. The program book will be professionally printed. Ads will be $75 for a full page, $40 for a half page, $25 for a quarter page, and $10 for a good luck line. The contestant to sell the most ads will receive the Hospitality Queen award. You must have the business send in the ad as a PDF in the size they wish. We are unable to design ads. Entry fee for the pageant is $110. A $25 deposit retainer fee and COMPLETED paperwork is due when you sign your contestant up. Please save a copy of your paperwork so that you can reference your entries for interview. The deadline to enter the pageant and pay all fees is August 8, 2025. We cannot accept any entries after this date. All payments must be made on or before this date as we do not accept cash at the pageant for anything other than People's Choice entries. Hair and makeup vendors will be available. They will post on the event page and all appointments should be secured through them. We have no affiliation with them and are unable to answer any questions that pertain to them. There is a large dressing area at the facility. Only the contestant and one person is allowed in the dressing room.
A photographer will be onsite and they will have details for all services they provide. If your contestant is crowned Queen, she must stay after the pageant for group photos. We have no affiliation with the photographer and are unable to answer any questions that pertain to them, including when photos will be available.
There will be concessions available the evening of the pageant. They will post a menu once the event is closer. They sell snacks and meals.
Door admission is $10 for anyone over the age of 3. Only contestants get in free. Please bring small bills or correct change for cash payments. You may pay vis Cash app at the door.
