🗓 #savethedate - Saturday 29 November 2025 at Ipswich Corn Exchange. We'll let you know when the Box Office is open. 🎶🎹
Wagner's noble Overture to Die Meistersinger is an exhilarating start to our upcoming concert, before the welcome return to the stage of rising star, Jeneba Kanneh-Mason. Only nineteen at the time of her previous visit to Ipswich, Gramaphone Magazine stated 'With so much in full flower at such an early age, her future will surely be dazzling' - and it is a huge privilege to have her back with us to perform Beethoven's dramatic and beautiful third piano concerto.
Our concert ends with Vaughan Williams' expressive sixth symphony; a masterpiece with a universal impact. Since its premier in 1948, this symphony has been subject to speculation over hidden meanings in the music. When asked about such meanings, Vaughan Williams replied - “It never seems to occur to people that a man might just want to write a piece of music". We are indebted to the Vaughan Williams Foundation for their sponsorship of this performance.
