The art of keeping a sketchbook is a personal & creative journey, and my goal is for you to get paint onto paper! I want to show you how we can document our daily life as a bit of a meditative practice in a low pressure environment, and create a safe space within the pages of your sketchbook.
This 4 hour workshop will explore basic art & design fundamentals while creating loose landscapes and crazy drawings. This includes basic colour theory, composition techniques, water control, tone, texture, and mark making. We will also do some loose drawing exercises as well as some 'plein air' time sketching outside.
An artist grade handmade sketchbook is included in the price of your ticket, with materials available to use on the day. It is highly recommended that you bring your own water based paints and drawing kits, as this practice is intended to continue outside the classroom. As this will be held in an art store, if you wanted to arrive 20-30 mins early for a bit of a personalised shopping experience you are welcome to.
Suitable for beginners through to intermediate wanting to loosen up or re-learn loose basics.
