Understanding your body & returning to movement after birth
Returning to exercise after birth can feel overwhelming — especially if your body doesn’t feel the same or you’re experiencing symptoms such as leaking, heaviness, abdominal separation or pain.
Postnatal Foundations is a gentle, education-based workshop designed to support women in their first year postpartum to better understand their body and feel more confident about returning to movement.
Led by a Women’s Health Exercise Physiologist, this session focuses on early postnatal recovery principles and provides clarity around what’s normal, what needs support, and how to approach exercise safely after birth.
In this session, we’ll cover:
• How pregnancy and birth affect the body
• Pelvic floor and core considerations
• Common postnatal symptoms and what they mean for exercise
• How to know when and how to return to movement
• What to prioritise before starting gym or classes
This is an education and gentle movement session - comfortable clothing recommended.
Who should attend:
• Women in their first year postpartum
• Those unsure how to return to movement
• Women experiencing pelvic floor, core or pain-related symptoms
• Anyone wanting a gentle, supportive approach
This workshop also introduces Postnatal Reset, a 6-week guided return-to-movement program starting later in the term.
