Join Kiwi wildlife biologist Cam Speedy & deer researcher Dr Eilidh Smith for a fascinating evening exploring their experiences and research.
Cam Speedy is a freelance Wildlife Biologist based in the Central North Island on New Zealand with more than 30 years’ experience working on a range of both native and introduced wildlife. Secretary of the Sika Foundation, Cam’s first love is Sika deer and he has been involved in Sika research most of his working life including habitat studies, herd dynamics, population monitoring and radio tracking work, with a number of published scientific papers and 100’s of magazine articles to his name.
Dr Eilidh Smith is currently working on the Affric Highland Satellite Collaring project and has been busy collaring 15 stags this winter, as well as tagging calves. She will provide an update on progress with the project and fascinating insights into the real-time tracking of stags via an app.
This date also happens to be the eve of Scottish Venison Day so expect some tasty nibbles to be on offer. BYOB.
