Launceston Planetarium Shows - Tycho Goes to Mars*

In Tycho Goes to Mars, our favourite cheeky dog with a knack for getting into trouble is finally blasting off to discover the red planet, Mars!

Join Tycho on an adventure in this exciting animated children’s film in a unique family cinema experience.

We’ll learn all about the major features of Mars, including the ancient volcano Olympus Mons and the canyons of the Valles Marineris.

Tycho is in search of water to fly his steam-powered space kennel back home. But how will he find water on Mars, when it looks so cold, dusty and dry?

Luckily, he discovers a new friend, Oppy, who is all too eager to help. Oppy – the NASA rover, Opportunity – has lots of experience exploring Mars and hunting for water. She is thrilled to share her knowledge of the red planet with a fellow space explorer.

Each Planetarium show is followed by a live tour of the current night sky.

• The Planetarium is closed Mondays and public holidays (with the exception of Mondays that fall within school holidays)

• A family ticket offers admission for two adults and two children, or one adult and three children. If more than a family of four are seeking entry under a family ticket, another adult/child ticket will need to be purchased

• Check in at the Information Desk to collect tickets before heading around to the Planetarium foyer

• Uncollected Eventbrite tickets will be forfeited if arrival is less than 15 minutes before hand
