Beginner Photography workshops with Danielle Lancaster

Danielle will be covering both digital cameras and mobile phone photography with these beginner classes.

An amazing chance to acquire new skills and develop the confidence to enter your photography in local shows and competitions in the Maranoa.

Classes will be held in the following locations:

• Surat beginners class - Friday 17 October 2025 - 9am - 3pm, Surat Shire Hall
• Injune beginners class - Sunday 19 October 2025 - 9am - 3pm, Injune Memorial Hall.

Bring your camera or smartphone.

Morning tea and lunch provided.

About the Tutor

Walkley Award-winning photographer Danielle Lancaster will be your tutor for this workshop. With an impressive career spanning multiple genres—including sport, news, weddings, portraiture, humanitarian work, and tourism (from luxury escapes to the most off-the-beaten tracks)—Danielle brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to photography. Her casual, down-to-earth teaching style makes learning both enjoyable and accessible.

Danielle’s passion for photography was sparked during her upbringing on a grazing and cropping property in North-West New South Wales. Inspired by her mother, who always carried a Brownie camera, and the monthly arrival of National Geographic magazines delivered by Freddy the mailman, Danielle developed a deep love for photography and storytelling.

For over 30 years, Bluedog Photography has been helping participants achieve their goals—whether it’s becoming professional photographers, making lifelong friends, or simply discovering the joy of capturing the world through a lens. Today, with advancements in technology, even smartphones can rival basic DSLRs, making photography more accessible than ever.

In this workshop, Danielle will share her easy-to-understand teaching methods, approachable nature, and a genuine willingness to mentor and inspire. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, Danielle’s guidance will help you see photography in a whole new light.
