For over three decades, Hoosier-born special effects artist Lynette Eklund has shaped the visual magic of beloved films and TV shows. With over 50 credits, her work includes iconic projects such as Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, Beetlejuice, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, The Stand, and Species. She's worked with the likes of Ben Kingsley, Jeff Goldblum, and Steven Spielberg, crafting effects that have left a lasting mark on cinematic history.
Currently, Lynette is promoting her newly published memoir through Histria Books, WEIRD: A Monster-Maker’s Journey From Small Town To Hollywood With OCD, where she shares her life behind the scenes on Hollywood's biggest effects films while battling severe OCD she doesn't know she has. Program:
Lynette will read the opening lines of her memoir and show a median presentation with behind-the-scenes stories from her career. After that, there’ll be a Q&A session where people can ask her anything they’d like. And, you can purchase a copy of her book, and Lynette will sign it!
