Our Special Guest:
Lynette Eklund has been in the special effect industry since she was 20. Her work comes in all sizes, from stop-motion miniatures to full-size dinosaurs. With over 60 television and film credits to her name, she has contributed to BEETLEJUICE, SPECIES I & II, the Emmy Award winning miniseries THE STAND and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, Oscar-nominated JURASSIC PARK: THE LOST WORLD, the PUPPET MASTER series, DEMONIC TOYS, GHOULIES II, THE SANDLOT, and more recently Disney+ steaming’s SKELETON CREW, MR. BEAST, and the up-coming movies DUST BUNNY, And a few others, while working with the likes of Ben Kingsley, Jeff Goldblum, Gore Verbinski and Stephen Spielberg.
She has also used her skills in the prototyping of the first animatronic toy, TEDDY RUXPIN; stage shows for TERRY FADER, CHRISTOPHER HART, JEFF DUNHAM and GALLAGHER; on limited-edition collectables for Disney sculptor Terri Hardin; three DISNEY PARKS, EPCOT, UNIVERSAL STUDIOS and parks around the world; as well as in commercials, the Warner Bros Museum and Guillermo Del Toro’s private art collection.
Currently, she is building characters for a project in pre-production—no, she cannot give you a peek—and promoting her new published memoir through Histria Books, WEIRD: A Monster-Maker’s Journey From Small Town To Hollywood With OCD, where shares her life behind the scenes on Hollywood's biggest effects films while battling severe OCD she doesn't know she has. It’s that OCD that is both her enemy and her guide to success.
