This year's Northern Appalachian Folk Festival will be very minimal due to the passing of Dr. Jim Dougherty, in early January.

The annual Walk of Fame will take place at 10 am on Saturday, September 6 in front of the marker at 565 Philadelphia Street, downtown Indiana PA, where we will honor volunteer BethAnn Krug, who passed on January 1, and Dr. James Dougherty, founder of the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival, Inc. Josh Krug will speak on behalf of his late mother, and Rob Moore will speak for Jim. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.There will be a dove release at the conclusion of the ceremony.
The annual Fiddle, Mandolin, Banjo, and Guitar contest will be held at the Indiana Theater also on Saturday, September 6. Registration begins at 10:30 am with the contest running from 11 am - approximately 3 pm. Cash prizes will be awarded.
On Sunday, September 7, also hosted at the Indiana Theater, will be the annual Storytelling and Liars Contest beginning at 2 pm.
These events are free of charge.
On Saturday, September 6, Joe Greshecky and the Houserockers will perform at the Indiana Theater starting at 7:30 pm.
