Ash Wednesday, a sacred day that invites us to pause, reflect, and prepare our hearts for the journey toward Easter. This meaningful service marks the start of the 40 days of Lent—a season rooted in repentance, prayer, and renewal, as we remember Christ’s time of sacrifice and prayer in the wilderness.
During the service, ashes will be offered with the ancient words, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” The ashes serve as a powerful symbol of our human fragility, our need for God’s grace, and the promise of renewal through Christ. The sign of the cross reminds us of God’s mercy and the salvation we receive through Jesus.
