You are invited to come enjoy an evening of fellowship, stories, and songs as Gary Kirkland celebrates his 55th Anniversary of performing live in Kansas City. He will be joined by vocalists Karla Peterie, Patty Boyer, and Lauren Miller.
Born in Georgia, guitarist and singer Gary Vance Kirkland is the second son and third child born to Rev. James Frank and Venetta Kirkland. His mother was both choir director and pianist, and Gary and his brothers Clayton (Clay) and Hamilton (Ham) all became musicians.
Gary also had a long and close musical association with the late phenomenal Dobro player Robert G. 'Bob' Tripp.
Winner of the 1981 International Jimmy Rodgers Yodeling Championship, in 2013 Gary was named the Kansas Heritage Musician of the Year. He formerly co-hosted the popular radio show "Folk Waves" on KCUR-FM in Kansas City, Missouri.
