38th Annual Jackson County Democrats Truman Gala!
This year's Truman Gala will focus on capturing the energy and momentum of the moment and setting us up for success in 2026 and beyond. With a growing energy across the nation that has been felt on the ground locally, now is the time to fight back. In Jackson County alone we have three targeted seats to flip Red to Blue including a State House seat, a State Senate seat, and a County Legislator seat. Working families in Missouri are struggling, and the policies coming from Jefferson City and beyond continue to increase the pressure these families face. In addition to growing our majority in Jackson County and helping to end the Supermajority in Jefferson City, we also must turn our attention to voter turnout. Kansas City must be the example statewide for voter turnout if we hope to ever be competitive statewide and continue to pass important votes like Proposition A and Amendment 3.
Our goals for 2025 include:
- Opening a permanent office for year-round organizing in Kansas City
- Re-opening an election year office in Senate District 8
- Recruiting candidates to fill every state house and county seat
- Organizing our party at the neighborhood level in our wards and townships
We are happy to bring the Gala back to Stoney Creek in Independence this year. The VIP reception begins at 5 PM, the Social Hour at 6 PM and the dinner & program start at 7 PM.
