The Workshop
Get ready to sprinkle a little handmade magic over your festive season! Join Melinda for a joyful workshop where you’ll create a gorgeous appliquéd Christmas mat using beautiful seasonal fabrics. Perfect as a heartfelt gift for someone special or to keep and treasure on your own Christmas table.
This workshop is all about more than just sewing. It’s about:
- Soaking up the festive spirit with like-minded crafters
- Making something meaningful to gift or keep
- Learning new creative skills in a relaxed, welcoming space
- Enjoying the cheer of the season, with conversation, laughter and maybe even a little festive music to inspire us along the way! (only if you are not already fed up with too much by then!)
Whether you’re a seasoned maker or completely new to applique, you’ll be guided step by step to create a unique mat that will bring colour, warmth, and joy to your Christmas celebrations for years to come.
So grab your sparkly festive spirit, and come stitch a little joy with us ... we can’t wait to craft together!

Any Christmassy fabric you've been wanting to use for something special (this is opptional as we have some)
If you have one please bring your own sewing machine ... this leaves our machines for people who do not have one. NB: please select the correct ticket when purchasing your space on the workshop.
Reading glasses if you need them.
What skills are needed?
Basic experience of using a sewing machine is preferrable, so that you can thoroughly enjoy the experience, rather than worrying about learning how to use one. If you are desperate to make one please get in touch ...

What are the timings?
This is a relaxed, morning running from 10am to 1pm.
Our purple front door will be open from 9.30am so we can welcome you in, you can get to meet Melinda, your fellow crafters and grab a cuppa before you start.
How many places are available?
To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the group size is limited to 12.
What is the cost?
This lovely workshop is at a bargain cost of £25+ 63p card fee. This includes all the materials needed to make your mat, mulled wine and mince pies during the morning (excluding lunch).
