Dedication Ceremony and Unveiling of Kentucky Historical Marker Honoring the Packhorse Librarian

We are so excited to announce that Hyden has been chosen as a site for a Kentucky Historical Marker honoring the Packhorse Librarian.

In celebration of this honor, we will be hosting a dedication with special guest Kim Michele Richardson. Ms. Richardson is a New York Times best selling author of The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek, The Book Woman’s Daughter, and Junia, The Book Mule of Troublesome Creek. She has been instrumental in helping us get this marker.

Read Spotted Newt will have her books available for purchase at the event, and Ms. Richardson will do a book signing after the dedication. A reception sponsored by the Leslie County Public Library and the City of Hyden will follow. Please join us for this very special event.
