La Posada is a beautiful Advent tradition that re-creates Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter on the night of Jesus’ birth, and celebrates the moment when they are finally welcomed in.
We’ll begin together at the Welcome Center and walk through the church, stopping along the way to ask for lodging, sing, and remember the story that leads to Christmas. Our journey will end at the Anderson Center, where all are invited to join in a time of worship, song, and reflection on the nativity story from Luke 2.
Afterward, we’ll share a festive meal of tamales, rice, beans, hot chocolate, and sweet bread. Children can enjoy the fun of breaking a piñata, and each child or youth will receive a small goody bag (aguinaldo) as they leave.
This event is free and open to the community, offering a joyful way to celebrate faith, hospitality, and the heart of Christmas together.

La Posada: Una Celebración Comunitaria de la Natividad

La Posada es una hermosa tradición de Adviento que recrea la búsqueda de refugio de María y José en la noche del nacimiento de Jesús, y celebra el momento en que finalmente son bienvenidos.
Comenzaremos juntos en el Centro de Bienvenida y caminaremos por la iglesia, deteniéndonos en el camino para pedir alojamiento, cantar y recordar la historia que conduce a la Navidad. Nuestro viaje terminará en el Centro Anderson, donde todos están invitados a unirse a un tiempo de adoración, canto y reflexión sobre la historia de la natividad de Lucas 2.
Después, compartiremos una comida festiva de tamales, arroz, frijoles, chocolate caliente y pan dulce. Los niños pueden disfrutar de la diversión de romper una piñata, y cada niño o joven recibirá una pequeña bolsa de regalos (aguinaldo) al salir.
Este evento es gratuito y abierto a la comunidad, y ofrece una forma alegre de celebrar juntos la fe, la hospitalidad y el corazón de la Navidad.
