Historical Marker Unveiling at the Museum

The Sullivan County Historical Society is pleased to announce the unveiling of the newest historical marker in Hurleyville, NY. This one is on the grounds of the museum on Main Street. The building served as a school until 1967 then it lay dormant until the county took over the building. In 1971 it became a museum and the home of the Sullivan County Historical Society and the Frederick A. Cook Society.

The unveiling will occur on Sunday, September 14 at 2:00. All are welcome to attend. We invite you to share your stories and memories of the school. There will be items on display in the museum auditorium as well as refreshments available.

The historical marker has been made possible through the joint efforts of the Sullivan County Historical Society, Sullivan County Parks and Recreation Department and the leadership of Gordon and Henry MacAdam.
