Mr. Van Houten has over 25 years of experience leading defense systems engineering. A Baylor University Computer Science graduate, he began his career with Motorola supporting the Army’s Tactical Airspace Integration System and later deployed during Operation Iraqi/Enduring Freedom. Transitioning to government service, he earned the AIAA Software Engineer of the Year Award (2012) for modernizing TAIS and later advanced Army Aviation’s adoption of Digital Engineering, MBSE, and MOSA. He has also held senior engineering roles at the Missile Defense Agency, driving innovation in sensor and experimentation labs. Today, he continues to champion enterprise-wide digital transformation across Army Aviation.
