Huntington Prepares for the Battle of Brooklyn

Experience the militiamen of Huntington drilling before joining General George Washington’s Army in the Battle of Brooklyn (aka Battle of Long Island) on August 27, 1776!

The Huntington Militia will host “Huntington Prepares for the Battle of Brooklyn," a reenactment event, on Sunday, August 24, 2025
from 12PM to 4PM at the Arsenal & Village Green, 425 Park Ave, Huntington, NY.

Witness the militia march, drill, and fire muskets! Hear the roar of the cannon! Join the militia in a family & children’s ‘musket’ drill. See colonial crafts, trades, and music! Learn about the Huntington Militia and its involvement in the American Revolutionary War!
