The sports bar at The Black Bull has had a 17th century facelift – but it still has a telly for the football.
Come celebrate with some 17th century music, with a modern twist...
The Official Launch of The Pepys Bar!
Samuel Pepys was the 17th century diarist who helped turn the British Navy into the supreme fighting force that won Trafalgar. He owned land in Brampton, visited The Bull (as it was known then), and stamped every book in his library with the mark, "Samuel Pepys of Brampton, Huntingdonshire."
To honour this connection with the past, The Black Bull has renamed and revamped its sports bar into the Pepys Bar. And for one night, you'll be able to hear music the way Samuel would have heard it.
Kinda.
The musical duo of Potato Jam has updated some of the liveliest (and raunchiest) of 17th century pub songs. You'll slap your thighs, laugh your eyes dry, and gasp at what songwriters could get away with in those days...
NB: Not recommended for children.
The event is free to attend, but space is strictly limited – so book early to avoid disappointment!
