Discover the fascinating world of fungi at one of the UK’s most unique nature reserves!
Join us for a guided walk through Holme Fen NNR, home to a rich variety of woodland and wetland fungi. Led by a knowledgeable fungi enthusiast, this walk will explore the hidden life of mushrooms, toadstools, and other curious species growing beneath the silver birch trees and on the fenland floor.
You’ll learn how to identify different types of fungi and understand their role in the ecosystem. Expect a relaxed pace with plenty of stops to observe and discuss finds. Perfect for anyone keen to learn more about fungi in a friendly, informative setting.
This is an activity for young people aged 13 - 25. This session is designed for participants to attend independently. We try to be as inclusive as possible, but this session may not suit every young person, and unfortunately, we cannot provide 1:1 support.
We're delighted to offer this event as part of the Peatland Progress project. Our thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Please note: Parents/guardians will be asked to fill out a consent form, for any participants under the age of 18, to include relevant concerns/issues to help us ensure participants get the most out of the session. This will be sent to you once you have registered, along with information about the meeting point etc.
Bookings are not confirmed until we have received your completed paperwork and a consent form (for each child).
