The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society

The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society returns to the Phipps for a 3-weekend series of thrillers from the golden age of radio, performed in the style of a classic radio broadcast, including commercial breaks, eerie music and live sound effects. Each weekend will feature different radio plays brought to life by veteran Twin Cities performers Shanan Custer, Joshua English Scrimshaw, Tim Uren, and Eric Webster “using their voices to paint a picture so vivid that, if you close your eyes, you can see the action in your mind's eye.” (Stages of Minnesota)

"Son of Frankenstein" by Joshua English Scrimshaw; an original adaptation of the classic movie
Joshua English Scrimshaw reimagines Wyllis Cooper’s abandoned film script as an episode of his classic radio series Quiet Please. You haven’t seen the movie until you've heard the radio play.

“The Judas Clock” from Inner Sanctum
An emotionally scarred clockmaker discovers a dark secret hidden within the works of a sinister Italian clock. This play also features one of radio’s strangest double acts, Raymond the ghoulish host and Mary the Lipton Tea Lady.

Recommended for ages 13+ (some mild adult content) | This event utilizes General Admission seating. | Tickets are non-refundable.
