In this presentation, Warmedahl discusses his work with pastoral communities who focus on dairying and cheesemaking, explaining how raw milk cheeses can result from a symbiotic relationship between microbes, landscapes, livestock, and human cultures. He will elaborate on his experiences of searching for cheeses with a sense of terroir, and eating them in the places they are made, while discussing the people and communities who make them. This encourages participants to look past western conceptions about what cheese is, and rethink how we relate to dairy livestock and milk.
The event will be held in the Churchtown Dairy farm store, final image in gallery.
A pre-talk tasting will be held from 4 - 5 pm which has a seperate ticket for 40$, available through this link. The events flow together, and we encourage you to attend both for the full experience.
