“Is my kid addicted to their phone?”
“I’m worried my kid’s online mistakes will follow them forever.”
“Which apps should I be worried about?”
“Will someone send my kid inappropriate photos?”
If you’ve ever googled these questions, you’re in the right place.
If you’ve ever said “I’m so glad my teenage years weren’t shared for the world to see,” this talk is for you! With social media and constant connection, the boundaries of privacy for children are stretched thin. In this presentation, you will learn how to:
► Mentor your child as they grow up with apps like Roblox, Instagram, TikTok, and Discord
► Understand how mentoring over monitoring with screens actually works
► Help your child navigate a world where they can be exposed to problematic content
► Encourage your child to be thoughtful about their digital footprint and reputation
► Work on sleep habits to get enough rest
► Find the balance between plugged and unplugged activities
► Teach your child strategies to recognize how social media affects their mood and mental
health and when to take a break
► Support your child in staying true to themselves as they grow up “in public” on social
media apps
