My Beloved Book Launch

We're launching Jan Karon's 15th Mitford novel, My Beloved, at The Mitford Museum in Hudson, NC. Activities include an Appalachian concert, BBQ supper, and the launch presentation. Tickets include a signed copy of the book. Additional books will be for sale at the event courtesy of our on-site bookseller.

The schedule is as follows:

• Friday, Oct. 3, 7-9 p.m. Appalachian clogging and music
• Saturday, Oct. 4, 4-5 p.m. VIP reception with Jan Karon
• Saturday, Oct. 4, 5-7 p.m. BBQ Supper on the Green
• Saturday, Oct. 4, 7 p.m. Launch Presentation

Info: Make a weekend of it! Add-on a Friday evening concert with the Cane Creek Cloggers and the Pressley Girls.


Tickets include general seating for an Appalachian dance and music performance in the Hudson Arts Center Auditorium on Friday evening at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.


The Cane Creek Cloggers are a performing dance group and non-profit organization, specializing in traditional North Carolina, Appalachian-style clog dancing and striving to promote an understanding of the diverse cultural heritage of the American South.


The Pressley Girls are sisters who specialize in traditional Appalachian music. They perform as a duo, with Corie Pressley on guitar and mandolin, while singing harmony, and Katie on fiddle and piano while singing lead.

Info: A limited number of tickets are available for attendees to enjoy wine and hors d'oeuvres with Jan ahead of the official launch. Tickets include all other launch activities and a signed copy of My Beloved.

Info: Enjoy a feast catered by Hog Wild BBQ. Includes pork, chicken, and all the sides along with something sweet for dessert. Ticket includes your meal, the launch presentation, and a signed copy of My Beloved.
