Meet artist Laura Tillotson at The Mechanics to then enjoy a great Art Walk!
The event will run 10.45am – 1.15pm.
Join artist Laura Tillotson for a morning of creativity and exploration in the beautiful village of Marsden.
This event combines the joys of walking in nature with the art of
drawing en plein air (outdoors). Whether you are an experienced artist or a beginner looking to try something new, this session is perfect for all skill levels.
All drawing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any additional supplies you're comfortable using.
Although this is a group session Laura will offer some personalised tuition and drawing advice if needed, whilst keeping an eye on everyone.
Along with a series of short drawing activities and some longer timed drawings, at times you will sit yourself in the landscape and draw your surroundings.
This walk offers private time in solitude to sit and draw as well as group drawing exercises. The group will explore different inspirational locations around the village, including boulders, waterfalls, trees and moorland. You may also encounter native wildlife and farm animals like sheep.
The aim is to help you relax, connect with nature, and be
present in the moment.
Bring your creativity, a sense of adventure, and enjoy making beautiful drawings in the heart of nature!
Things you will need:
A good pair of walking boots - ideally waterproof
A bottle of water
A waterproof coat/ umbrella
Sunscreen if hot weather
Enthusiasm!
(In case of very wet weather, Laura will lead an indoor class taking inspiration from objects found in the natural environment.)
