A Journal of Intention: An Artful Retreat with Cher Salvatore at Extending Grace
During this two-day retreat, you’ll craft a textured, hand-bound journal layered with plaster, decoupage, vintage papers, and your own personal touches. We’ll create intention cards to guide our work, then bring the pages to life with paints, gelatos, and mark-making techniques. Your finished journal will hold space for daily reflections, dreams, and creativity long after the weekend ends.
Throughout our time together, you’ll enjoy thoughtfully prepared meals, a catered dinner, and a relaxed meet-and-greet to spark new friendships with fellow creatives.
All materials are included—even hand-painted papers and beautiful vintage ephemera!

We’re honored to host Cher Salvatore, a self-taught mixed media artist whose work appears in Somerset Studio and Art Journaling magazines. Cher’s passion for art, storytelling, and joyful discovery shines through every project she leads. When she’s not teaching from her lively home studio (with her two playful pups by her side), she’s inspiring others to dive into their own creative journey.

We ask you to supply your own:
brushes in assorted sizes (a 1” flat brush for collage medium, variety of small sizes)
scissors
pallet knife
personal assorted ephemera that you would like to include
Extending Grace also has a lovely assortment of papers (rice, tissue and Monahan papers) and vintage ephemera for purchase.

We're excited to offer these two days of creative exploration, great food, and fellowship with other creatives.
Once you've registered, You will be invited to a Facebook private group for more details where we'll give you up to date info and inspiration. We'll give you all the details in the group as well!
We are limiting the class to 20 participants, but we must have 10 to hold the workshop. If we do not reach the minimum by September 12, your fees will be refunded.

You are responsible for your own hotel accommodations. Devon is working on a special rate with a local hotel, and you will be informed of such in the FB group. The Hubbard/ Youngstown area has some wonderful accommodations. Let us know if you need some suggestions. We are located halfway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
And if your spouse is a golfer and wants to travel with you, (weather permitting) our area is famous for its affordable, beautiful golf courses. We also have great museums and restaurants that will keep them busy while you're creating!
